We live in what I would describe as (dare I say it?) an old-fashioned neighborhood. Its a close knit community where our liitle ones converge on the street before dinner and ride their bigwheels and trycicles as the mommies skurry about visiting and watching for cars. When there is a new baby we make a schedule and cook for that family. In the summer there is early morning swim team at our neighborhood "club" for the older children and afternoon swim lessons for the little ones. What to do in the winter? For the past 3 years, the neighborhood has sponsored a lovely Nativity and hot choklit'event. Being the actress of the community, they very sweetly ask me to be Mary.
This year I ask if I could direct the event. You know just a little sprucing up,a couple of cues for the little shepherds ,so their mommies won't have to say "go" and push them toward the manger in their little bathrobes. It was another succesful year, but total bummer, no pics of Magic ,the nipping llama or Dolly the sheep(note to self: Mary does not need to wear red lipstick next year)!
Finally a picture of my other golden angel,Crooked Halo sang her sweet little heart out. Singing "Silent Night" a'cappella is no easy feat,American Idol, here we come!

Sigh. What a lovely neighboorhood!
Your neighborhood sounds lovely! And you make a beautiful Mary.
Wow, your neighborhood sounds awesome. TOTALLY unlike mine, where there are teenagers across the street hootin' and hollerin' at all hours of the night like it's their own private estate, and the folk on either side of us generally put their heads doe and scurry quickly into their homes, rather than actually SPEAK to the "Addams Family" next door. LOL!
What a lovely neighbourhood....can we come to stay haha
You make a beautiful Mary...I love your hair colour - amazing!
Did you get my parcel?? eekk I hope it gets there in time!
Wow, your neighbourhood sounds like paradise! You and your Angel look gorgeous :)
Both of those photos are so poetic. What I like the best is the expression on Joseph's face!!
Hello Ms. Jungle Dream Pagoda!
I Love saying that out loud....Jungle Dream Pagoda, Jungle Dream Pagoda, Jungle Dream Pagoda....okay, I'll stop that now. Thank you for the post!! So very nice!! I enjoyed looking at all your pics and your family is very beautiful!
Take care!
Michelle
I long to live in a place like that one day. I am ready to find small town America and a more simple, relaxed, friendlier surrounding.
Wow, I just realized you're in Dallas! Not so 'small town'. Interesting. I lived in Texas when I was a little girl. My mom always talks about how friendly everyone was there (and in Louisiana too).
Lucky you - fabulous neighborhood - adorable angel!!!
